Medical Unit (5 North) provides care to all adult patients, from 13 years of age, meeting the criteria for admission. Pregnant patients with diagnosis related to their pregnancy are usually not accepted and will be screened carefully before being accepted to the unit, but should not be more than their second trimester of pregnancy. Pregnant patient on their third trimester of pregnancy is not accepted in the unit.
In addition to medical patients the unit receives patients for Sleep Study and for Radioactive Iodine Treatment (I-131). Our most commonly treated problems include:

• Coagulation disorders
• Metabolic diseases
• Pulmonary diseases
• Renal disorders
• Endocrine problems
• Gastrointestinal disorders
• Neurological disorders

NO. OF BEDS: 20
NURSE/PATIENT RATIO: 1:4 at day shift and 1:4 or 1:5 at night shift

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Valid nursing license from either the United States or Canada
• Minimum of four years of recent experience at a large North American acute-care hospital, including one-year of current experience in a similar role at a large North American acute-care hospital.
