The Surgery Department aims to establish high quality, state-of-the-art surgical techniques to heal elective and emergent surgical problems, provide the best possible patients’ care up to the satisfaction of the patients’, the community and the surgeons’ & to establish a well-recognized center of excellence that provides high standards of comprehensive surgical training, service and original research.
The department’s vision and objectives – Application of an ambitious patients’ health educational programs towards the provision of an integrated holistic surgical care delivery system to serve the local community and the outreach neighboring communities, commitment to perfection and excellence in surgical practice, to attain the respect of patients, families and the community through: promoting scientific surgical knowledge, teaching appropriate surgical techniques, adopting stringent quality improvement guidelines, practicing evidence based surgery and enrollment in original scientific research.
The Department of surgery comprises nine sections covering all the spectrum of surgical sub-specialties. The sections work in collaboration and harmony to provide integrated services to the community at large. The department provides training activities to its staff.
ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY
The spectrum of services provided includes: joint reconstruction, sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery, spine surgery, pediatrics orthopedic
The section pioneered the surgery of joints reconstruction primary and revision and has continued to lead the bilateral knee joint arthroplasty in the kingdom. Close to 1,000 Total Knee in the past 8 years in addition to Adult and Pediatric Scoliosis Surgeries.
Requirements:
- Medical Degree
- American Boards or Canadian FRCSC/FRCPC
- A minimum of three years post-specialty certification experience in pediartic orthopedic surgery in North America.
