The IV team provides service for all patients, pediatric and adult requiring intravenous therapy. It is the primary provider of IV care to pediatric patients in the non critical care areas. The team offers support in all aspects of intravenous care throughout the hospital. It offers support for all types of vascular access devises and is a resource in intravenous care within the Kingdom.

The IV team is composed of registered nurses. Each nurse is an independent practitioner, and is accountable for his/her own practice. The IV team functions under a self-governance model.

The team is available 24 hours per day. The shifts are 12 hours in length and follow the American rotation.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, or Associate’s degree, or diploma in Nursing in Nursing, and
• Current nursing license in Canada or the United States, and
• A minimum of two years current experience as a Registered Nurse, of which at least one must be in the specialty area, working in a mid- to large-sized acute-care hospital in North America.

Must have current experience in the management and care of patients with Peripheral IV Therapy and Central Venous Catheters (CVC), in venous access assessment, IV starts and restarts, and IV troubleshooting.
