The Senior Clinical Planning Consultant, Quality has the responsibility for overseeing planning for Quality, Utilization, Accreditation, Risk Management (including Patient Safety and Compliance Management) activities related to the planning, construction, commissioning and initiation of services for Sidra. He/She oversees the planning, organization, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Sidra Quality program, including functional program design, detailed departmental planning and equipment selection. Provides consultation to other departments regarding matters related to Quality as necessary.
Education & Experience:
- Master's Degree in a health related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years current experience with a large academic medical center in North America, in a senior position with responsibility for Quality and Patient Safety.
- Health practitioner license in related field (e.g., Nursing, Medicine, etc.).
- Experience with USA based JCAHO Accreditation is required.
OR
- Bachelor's Degree in a health related field.
- Minimum ten (10) years current experience with a large academic medical center in North America, in a senior position with responsibility for Quality and Patient Safety.
- Health practitioner license in related field (e.g., Nursing, Medicine, etc.).
- Experience with USA based JCAHO Accreditation is required.
Experience & Skills required:
- Formal education and working knowledge in JCAHO Accreditation systems and preparation.
- Strong experience in the use of Data Collection systems used to monitor organizational and departmental performance within a digital hospital.
- Intermediate level knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office packages and SharePoint.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Data Warehousing.
- Experience in implementing Patient Safety strategies including medication error prevention, falls risk reduction, pressure ulcer prevention, and patient safety rounds, with knowledge of IHI Patient Safety strategies.
- Institute for Health Improvement experience in using data for performance management and the use of dashboard type presentation of data to staff.
- Formal training as an Auditor and experience in completing compliance type audits for Tracer methodology for accreditation and compliance auditing for ISO 9001 compliance.
- Experience in completing Risk Assessments and the use of a formal risk management structure to manage all organizational risk.
- Experience in the use of Quality Management tools and techniques including process mapping in a large organization.
- Experience in the management of the development of Policies and Procedures, both departmental and organization wide.
- Hospital commissioning experience desired.
- Strong analytical, research and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work harmoniously with a large variety of people, personalities and cultures.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills, including management of project priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity and changeable conditions.
- Ability to synthesize complex information which results in to the development and implementation of actual patient care services.
