Or, as reported in a June 2009 article in the Arab News, the 2004 Saudi Arabian census counted 8,285,662 Saudi males, 8,243,640 Saudi females, 4,271,598 male foreigners, and 1,872,638 female foreigners. (The next census is planned for the second quarter of 2010.)
United Arab Emirates
Population (per CIA World Factbook): 4,621,399
Expat population: the US State Department page on the UAE estimates that only 15% to 20% of the population is UAE Nationals – thus 80% to 85% of the population are expats!
Qatar
Population (per CIA World Factbook): 928,635
Expat population: Not sure, since in recent years, Qatar again has been hiring large numbers of expats, but all sources say the majority of the above 928,635 are expats; with ranges between 60% to 40% (expat/national) and 75% to 25% (expat/national).
Kuwait
