The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) is a modern, 1,100+ bed Joint Commission International (JCI)-accredited academic medical facility located in Riyadh, the vibrant capital city of Saudi Arabia.

Summary:

Home Care patients are classified into:

1) Long term conditions: admitted to the program with no plans of discharge, e.g.,
* Palliative patients
* End of life patients
* Home Mechanically Ventilated Patients (HMVP)
* Home Hemodialysis Patients (HHDP)
* Home Parenteral Nutrition Patients (HPNP)
* Home Enzyme Replacement Patients (HERP)
* Other patients whose individual needs are addressed case by case

2) Short term conditions: admitted to the program for a period that ranges from 1 month to 6 months. These patients have a specific objective of admission to HHC and are discharged once the objective is met.

Functions in HHC include but are not limited to: coordination and provision of nursing/medical care, patient/family/caregivers advocacy, support and education, liaison between patient, family and other health care providers, symptom control and pain management, physical assessment, tracheotomy tube change and care, gastrostomy tube change and care, nebulizers, oropharyngeal and tracheal suctioning, indwelling and intermittent urinary catheterization, bladder irrigation, diabetic care, enteral feeds, wound care, vacuum wound care, vascular accesses devises care, ostomy care, subcutaneous fluid and pain control medication infusions, intravenous antimicrobial infusion, specimen collection, medication instruction, supervision and administration and research/participation in research as applicable.

Average patient care monthly visits: 1200 visits

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (online/distance education programs cannot be considered)
  • Current nursing (RN) license
  • Must have a minimum of two years current experience as an RN in home health
